Stock on the site, a product used when a job closes, and a purchase request when the shelf is empty.
The gasket is bought on a card, written on a docket, and never tied to the cold-room job. Next time the shelf is empty and nobody knows why.

When the job completes, the product used is stored on that job. The asset and the cost trail stay connected.

If stock is out, a request goes through an approval. It is not a chat to accounts.

Keep a supplier against the item Supplier
Who you buy it from sits with the item, so the next order is not a hunt through last year's invoices.
Stock
Inventory is the material twin of the job. The part is on a site shelf or it is on a purchase request. When the job closes, the product used is a field on that job. That is how a gasket does not vanish into a card statement.
